Staying in this spot feels like stepping into a hidden treasure with its quirky decor and spacious public rooms showcasing unique artworks. The dining area overlooks beautifully maintained gardens and features a breakfast spread that includes locally sourced options like bread from The Thoughtful Bread Company, enhancing the experience.
Approaching the entrance, the faded paintwork and locked doors may give the impression of an apartment block rather than an inviting stay. The journey into the city is roughly a 20-minute walk down a steep hill, which could be a workout for some. it means planning for the uphill return or relying on local buses that are available but might not run as frequently. some rooms may feel a bit snug for those used to spacious accommodations, though the comfortable beds offset this somewhat.

wonderful central base for exploring bath's parks and landmarks
We had a fantastic time walking around the city, as the hotel is just a short stroll from beautiful Alexandra Park, offering stunning views, and it's only almost 2 km from Bath Abbey, a must-see landmark that we enjoyed visiting in the evenings. the rooms were really comfortable and beautifully decorated, truly capturing the character of Bath. This hotel makes for a perfect weekend getaway for travelers who appreciate sightseeing and leisurely walks through charming neighborhoods, but the distance to some attractions may require a bit of planning if you're visiting in a busy season.

central hotel perfect for exploring stunning park views and landmarks
I absolutely loved starting each day with a delightful breakfast made from locally sourced ingredients and then enjoying nearby attractions like the gorgeous Parade Gardens and the iconic Pulteney Bridge, all within easy walking distance. the warm atmosphere created by Karen and Robert made my stay even more enjoyable, ensuring I felt right at home. For fellow weekend wanderers, the hotel is a fantastic base for exploring Bath, although it might be a bit challenging for those not keen on climbing stairs since the rooms are on the 3rd floor.

The breakfast was fantastic, especially the locally sourced options, and the touch of Irish Cream in the room was a delightful surprise! Finding time to relax by the garden in the evening, while soaking in the cozy ambiance, made our stay special. The only hiccup was that our room was on the third floor, but the staff were super helpful with our luggage, so no big deal! 😊

missingWrote a review on Jun 27room cleanliness
Room cleanliness left something to be desired, as some decor elements like the drapes were dirty and in disrepair, which detracted from the overall feel. The uphill walk back after a long day exploring could feel tiring, taking longer than expected when stamina is low. accessibility could be an issue. many stairs in the building made lugging heavy bags a chore, and those with mobility challenges might struggle. While breakfast was delicious, it came with a price tag that felt a bit steep compared to similar establishments offering better value.

Had a great time here with friends! We explored the famous Roman Baths and enjoyed some fun at the local hot springs. The breakfast was fantastic, and the hosts were super welcoming. Just a heads-up, the walk back from the city center is uphill, so consider a taxi if you're tired!
